While visiting the festival be sure to experience the model train show hosted by The Cape Fear Model Railroad Society located in the Historic Burgaw Depot. The Cape Fear Model Railroad Society shares the great American tradition of railroad modeling, by constructing and displaying model railroads in such exhibits all over the Southeastern North Carolina region.
A vestige of Burgaw’s antebellum history, built in 1850 and renovated in 2009, the Historic Burgaw Depot is a historic train station located along the path of the former Wilmington to Weldon railroad. The Depot also offers a transportation museum, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is part of the North Carolina Civil War Trails.
