The North Carolina Blueberry Festival is just a few months away, the festival will celebrate its’ fourteenth season this year on June 16 & 17th, 2017. As always held among the Oaks on and around Burgaw’s historic courthouse square, the festival has become larger and another one of the most entertaining family events held in our state.
Founded in 2003, the NC Blueberry Festival has emerged as Pender County’s premier event!
The festival board strives to make each year better than previous years and more enjoyable for all age groups. One of the ways they are able to meet that goal is through the generous support of the Festival’s sponsors.
The festival’s mission remains as it continues to celebrate the historic, economic, and cultural significance of blueberries grown in the Southeast region of our state; Organized to advance the general education of and the promotion of blueberries and tourism in our surrounding areas.
Different than most, Scholarships and other educational activities continue as priorities of the festival. The advanced education of our young people is vitally important to their future as well as the future of our state and nation. Again, as in previous years, $20,000 in scholarships will be available to deserving students residing in the blueberry producing counties of Bladen, Duplin, New Hanover, Pender, and Sampson.
It has been estimated that the Festival weekend activities contribute significantly to the economy of not only Burgaw, Pender County, but as well as the surrounding areas. Drawing participants and attendees from throughout the state and region, the Festival is widely covered by local, regional and national media.
This unique celebration offers excellent sponsorship opportunities. It is a way for sponsors, organizations, and individuals to support the community while taking advantage of an excellent promotional tool that provides a positive image and a direct exposure to the families of southeastern North Carolina and beyond.
The festival owes its’ success to sponsors like you who lend their name and financial support to this family event. We trust you will continue your support again this year and we thank you in advance for your continued association with one of the premier family festivals in our state.
