The North Carolina Blueberry Festival will celebrate its 17th season on June 19-20th, 2020. Held on and around the Town of Burgaw’s historic courthouse square, the festival has become one of the largest and most entertaining family events held in our state. Founded in 2003, the festival board strives to make each year better than previous years and more enjoyable for all age groups. Last year the NC Blueberry Festival drew an estimated 40,000 visitors over the two-day event and we expect to see even greater attendance in 2020.
The festival’s primary mission is to celebrate the historic, economic, and cultural significance of blueberries grown in the Southeast region of our state. In addition to supporting North Carolina agriculture, proceeds from this event are used to provide educational scholarships for rising college students. As in previous years, scholarships will be awarded to deserving students residing in the blueberry producing counties of Bladen, Duplin, New Hanover, Pender and Sampson.
It has been estimated that the festival contributes significantly to the local economy of not only Burgaw and Pender County, but the surrounding areas as well. Drawing participants and attendees from throughout the state and region, the festival is widely covered by local, regional and national media.
The North Carolina Blueberry Festival and its benefits to the community would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors and partners. We are grateful for the support of new and returning sponsors for the 2019 festival and offer various forms of recognition, as outlined in the Sponsorship Packet below. Please feel free to contact the festival office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 910-789-0096 with any questions about sponsorship opportunities.
